Dragon Leg Muay Thai and Warrior Way are proud to announce their 2nd Amateur Smoker competition taking place May 13, 2006 at the Warrior Way facilities in Walled Lake, MI. Information is as follows:
- What: Amateur Muay Thai Smoker Event
- When: Fights the night of May 13. Fighter weigh in at 3:30 PM, doors open at 6:00 PM with fights starting at 6:30 PM.
- Where: Warrior Way - located in Walled Lake, Michigan (48390).
- Who: We are looking for amateur Muay Thai fighters of all skill levels. We will have forms online shortly to register your School/Trainer/Team, and then register your individual fighters from the teams. We are hoping to have matchups set well in advance of fight day. We plan on having schools from at least 7 states (Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, New Jersey, Texas and California) in house on fight night. Matee Jedeepitak will have students fighting, along with Saekson Jinjira and Bunkerd Faphimai. If you wish your students to get some great exposure to many Muay Thai styles, this is an excellent opportunity. Our #1 priority is making evenly skilled, safe matches for the participants. Smokers are opportunites for students to use the tools they have acquired in a safe manner. Our criteria for matchups include amateur record (in all disciplines) and time training amongst others.
- Rules: Fighters will be required to supply appropriate groin protection, hand wraps and mouth piece. Warrior Way will provide gloves (tentatively 14 ounce gloves), head gear and shin pads. You may use your own head gear and shin guards with approval from the on premesis judge. Fights will be 3 - 2 minute rounds with a 1 minute break between rounds. 3 judges will present to score the fights for fights going the distance. There will be no elbows, knee strikes will be allowed but not to the head.

We are going to attempt to schedule all fights well in advance of fight day. In order to achieve this goal, we are asking Schools/Kru's to register themselves and their fighters using our online system. This will be a two step process. The first step is to fill out the form below with the information on your school so we can contact you (please fill out the e-mail, password and phone at the minimum). Once you are registered, you can click the "Register Fighter" link below, login using your e-mail address and password and register your fighters. If you have any problems or prefer just to send a list of fighters (with their names, weights, records [amateur, muay thai, san shou, mma, etc...] and years training) contact matt@dragonlegmt.com.
